The summary section of your LinkedIn profile is essentially your elevator pitch. You have a few moments to convince the reader to look at the rest of your profile and decide if they want to connect.

But how do you stand out from the crowd when there are many millions LinkedIn users? We’ve looked at some examples of great LinkedIn summaries that you’ll be inspired by.

1. Senior Marketing Manager

If you’re a marketing manager then look no further than Justin Graci from HubSpot. He dives straight into his personality traits in the first paragraph and then describes what he thinks about his industry. He wraps up with a CTA and asks the reader to visit his personal marketing blog.

2. Senior Sales Manager

Another HubSpot employee with an impressive summary section is Greg Brown. He starts off with how long he’s been in business and then goes on to describe his job and the specific challenges he can solve. He’s also not afraid to boast about his company’s marketing tools.

3. Marketing Agency Owner

Lydia Hattrup who runs Stella Rose Marketing doesn’t waste anyone’s time but cuts straight to the chase. Her profile summary is just three sentences. She uses them to clearly explain who she is, what she’s accomplished, and why the reader should get in touch with her to collaborate.

4. Executive Senior Partner

Jenn Bellso from the accounting firm Lucas Group breaks the ice with some tangible facts about her company. She clearly demonstrates what they do and why they’re so successful. The summary has a humorous twist towards the end and she finishes off with a call-to-action.

5. Digital Journalist (To Be)

Ethan Hogan isn’t a digital journalist yet, but his profile summary makes it clear that he wants to be. From the get-go, he makes clear why he’s on LinkedIn and who his target market is: recruiters. He then goes on to describe why he wants to break into this new industry.
